7 Summons to Court???

Came home last Friday and to my astonishment had 7 summons to Tallaght court next Monday. Not 1 but 7???

I was stopped in September and they checked the usual licence, insurance, tax etc. The tax disc was for 08/09 and it was the 30th Sept, I had renewed it online before I was stopped but obviously had no disc. I was asked to produce this within 10 days, my insurance was in date and I had my driving licence.

I produced the new tax disc tax within the 10 days and my licence, however I now have summons including:

    No Insurance
    Failure to display insurance
    No tax
    Failure to display tax
    No driving licence
Failure to produce withing 10 days
    and something ridiculous as well..

I went to the station (of my choice) I produced and got a copy saying I produced my licence and tax in 10days and the garda there said "I shouldn't of got them"! He said go to her station and talk to her about it.

I tryed contacting the garda on the summons in her station but got the response"she's out in the car". Left my details on Saturday and she never rang me back Saturday/Sun/Mon.

Went in today and she was gone so left a photcopy of this saying I produced this information and a photcopy of my insurance with the date it commenced.

Has anyone got any advice if she doesn't get back to me because this is ridiculous when I had everything and produced in 10 days? Or has anyone experienced something similiar to this. If it was one ok fair enough maybe I should of renewed the tax earlier, but feckin 7 of them??

Now I might have to go to court on Monday and pay for a solicitor, waste my time and money and the courts time who should be dealing with real criminals.

Hang on, you said you should have insured earlier - that your problem, not theirs. There is also the problem of non-display. You are the criminal. :)

Find out who the regular solicitors are at that court and ask them how much and have all your documentation ready for them. Make sure the garda gets all the documentation before hand so those charges can be struck out and only the active ones need be dealt with on the day.

It is possible an error was made somewhere along the line. Maybe a typo in your name or the reg of the car you were driving. Find out when she is working next that suits you to meet her at the station but at a time where she is starting her shift and speak with her. If she realises a mistake has been made Im sure she will have no problem striking out all summons without you even having to go to court. If you do have to go to court there is little need for a solicitor.

As for the "real criminals" comment, well ordinary people make stupid mistakes like driving without insurance or drink driving or assault people etc etc. These are not just the mistakes of real criminals.
