What do I think of what? What exactly are you asking? Opinions on the photograph or opinions on the picture?

Photograph: Shallower DOF would have been better.
Picture: It looks rather like you just applied some filters - the B&W conversion has no real depth, the frame is kinda nice and kinda messy (The bleed effect is a little inconsistant), watermarks: always a subject of debate: this wan't too bad (maybe remove "Image by"?), maybe go a step further and Photoshop the skin tone (to reduce the shine on the lady's cheek and nose)?, maybe try an even tighter crop?
    Otherwise, they're quite nice.

Sorry, I meant opinions all round.

Thanks for the comments. They are taken on board.

No. 1: Shallower DOF + whatever is in the background is really distracting.

    Really dislike no.2.

OP is that you on the left and you're holding the camera (ala bebomode)?

There's no real sense of it being a birthday nor a party as the title would suggest. Was it the intention of the photo to portray a birthday party (or sense of)?

No it was the first image of the evening. I was trying out different light situations. I am sitting next to the couple.

Your images are crisp, brightly (but not too brightly) lit, in focus and straight.

Bit further away from the subject next time I'd recommend. Your making them physically uncomfortable. I don't mean making them sick or anything, just physically they looked cramped rather than relaxed.

Big tip: dado rail never looks good but especially not in pics. The length on the left looks as though it about to impail your mates brain.

The Background is the only distraction for me. I like the colour version. Am sure the couple would like for their album
The pose could be better. Keep posting. Well done
