Am currently in the process of switching mortgage providers and now just finalising the last few remaining issues with my solicitor. He is charging me €1,210 fees (€1k plus VAT) and other fees of €430 (Land reg fees, search fees etc.)

People have said to me that his fee is quite high. What is the standard fee payable? What have other people paid? The process has run pretty smoothly so I can't imagine that they had a huge amount of work to do.

Sounds about right. I was charged fees similar to yourself and that was by a family friend with a "discount"
