    Hi,

Anyone know what the hourly rate is for secondary school substitute teaching? Is it the same for substitute teachers who have completed their Hdip and those who have not? Any help appreciated...:)

It's now €46.85 for qualified and €40.85 for unqualified secondary substitutes.

The scales etc are on the asti website:

for secondary teaching are you counted as qualified as soon as you finish the PGDE or do you have to do a full year teaching after the PGDE to get qualified?

You're qualified as soon as you finish the PGDE.
