So my girlfriend thought it would be a great idea for me to start shaving down below. I know that its becoming more popular now so I agreed to it. Did lots of research online about how to avoid rash etc. Trimmed my pubes and then shaved my balls and shaft - so far so good. Then about 24 hours later an almighty itch started on my balls. I can hardly bear it!! There isn;t a shaving rash, only maybe one or two bumps. But the itch! I think its something I would like to keep up, but not if its going to be like this. Please, is there anyone who can advise me?

Exfoliate, it gets easier after the first time, been doing it for years

if you use talcum powder after you shave it eases the itching, (Generous portions) dab dry with a clean towel.
Also, dont scratch! seriously if its that bad, wash and dry by dabbing a clean towel around the affected area.
It does get easier, but i wouldnt shave (down there) again for a few weeks if I was you.

Lanacane or Germolene cream numb the skin, only a small amount and only on the place where it itches, not all over...

Just suffer it and learn from your mistake :p Trim in future ! Or else go for the dreadlocks

Quitting shaving down there would certainly stop it

Buy one of those trimmers and use on the shortest setting in future! Means no itchy regrowth but still appearance of less....*ahem* undergrowth around the one tree in your forest :p

In the meantime, +1 on advice to exfoliate. If you've nothing in the house, sugar and a tiny bit of water (just enough to make it damp) and go gently!! No point irritating the boys any more than they already are!
