Let's get straight to the point. This is one of the best, if not the best, TV shows ever produced. Although not a commercial success when it was first broadcast, The Wire has grown from its cult status as TV networks around the world have picked up on its appeal. Written by former police reporter David Simon the plot of this first series follows a team from the Baltimore Police Department as they attempt to infiltrate a gang of street drug dealers. You see both sides of the story the Police and how they try to stop the drugs getting on to the streets, and the drug gangs and how they try to stay ahead of the game. There are many times where the lines between good and bad are blurred as the human aspects of the story really stand out. At the end of the day it's all about survival.

The performances from the cast are outstanding and completely believable; realism has been a key to the success of The Wire. The show takes a few episodes to really get going as the plot and the characters start to develop, but by the end of this series you'll be ready to jump straight into the second series. And the best thing is... this show gets better with every series!

This made-for-cable series is set in the flashy world of South Beach, Miami, where looking good is a full-time profession. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) are plastic surgeons. Sean is married to Julia (Joely Richardson) and has a conscience when it comes to his job, while Christian is willing to lie to get a woman into bed and onto the surgery table. Although they've been partners for years, their opposing ethical stances, as well as Christian's desire for Julia, keep the dramatic tension bristling. Contains all 15 episodes from the show's third season.

In the acclaimed second season, her job gets that much harder when she discovers that her new boyfriend (Martin Henderson, SAVED!) is a DEA agent. Season two shows that the series has some famous fans with music's best singing the show's hilarious theme song, "Little Boxes," including Elvis Costello, Death Cab for Cutie, Jenny Lewis, and Regina Spektor. This collection comprises the entire fourth season of the universally lauded HBO gangster drama, THE SOPRANOS. This season, the bodies continue to pile, as Tony (James Gandolfini) and Carmela (Edie Falco) find their marriage falling apart. Like fine wine, THE SOPRANOS only gets better with age. Viewers can only hope that creator David Chase will continue to create new story lines that will keep these characters in our lives for years to come--if they don't get whacked first.

Further matters of life and death (but mostly death) unfold in this third season of SIX FEET UNDER, from award-winning creator Alan Ball. With Rico (Freddy Rodriguez) getting his wish to be a partner in the business, Fisher & Sons has turned into Fisher & Diaz. But difficult times lie ahead for both Rico and the Fisher's as they try to adjust to the change. Meanwhile, David (Michael C. Hall) and Keith (Mathew St. Patrick) go into therapy together; Nate (Peter Krause) is plagued by dreams involving his father and has relationship issues with his girlfriend; Claire (Lauren Ambrose) is still struggling to balance her personal life with high school; and Ruth has a new man in her life.

SIX FEET UNDER is a compelling, unique show from HBO. Combining masterful acting and direction with storylines that suck viewers in and leave them wanting more, this is television drama at its finest.

Revolves around Ray Barone, a successful sportswriter living on Long Island with his wife, Debra, 12-year-old daughter, Ally, and 8-year-old twin sons, Geoffrey and Michael. That's the good news. The bad news? Ray's meddling parents, Frank and Marie, live directly across the street and embrace the motto "Su casa es mi casa," infiltrating their son's home to an extent unparalleled in television history. Brother Robert, a divorced policeman, is constantly moving in and out of his parents' house, and loves to drop over and resent Ray's successful career and happy family life. Ray and Debra just wish someone would knock once in a while.

    My reasons are two-fold:

Because it's easier to simply browse down through them and click the one you want to view in my opinion.

And if I created a CDWOW Bargain Thread, how many people would go into it? We all know how world-renowned their sales are.

Err, Basq, is everything OK? You're the one person I wouldn't expect to be spamming the board with single threads for every boxset! What happened to combining them into one thread!?

See my comment in the Everybody Loves Raymond thread as to why I did it.

Merged all the CDWOW threads on request of a number of posyers..

.. pretty petty thing to get torn out of shape for - didn't see the harm in having them all seperately (especially since we know how rare it is for CDWOW to have good prices in their sale)!

    However, that's fair enough!

Btw, for a change it may actually be cheaper to order in euros. The Frasier sets at £6.25 are showing as €7.00 on cdwow.ie. If you're ordering a few, may save a few yoyos.
