Rothar's second bicycle film night is on this coming Thursday, January 28th, from 8PM in the upstairs room in Anseo, Camden St, Dublin 2.

We will be showing Belleville Rendez-Vous, an animation film released in 2003. It tells the story of Madame Souza, an elderly woman who goes on a quest to rescue her grandson Champion, a Tour de France cyclist, who has been kidnapped by the French mafia for gambling purposes and taken to the city of Belleville. She is joined by the triplets of Belleville, music hall singers from the 1930s, who she meets in the city, and her obese, disturbed hound dog, Bruno.

All monies raised during the night (suggested donation 5€) will be reinvested into Rothar's social mission! Please come along!

I remember seeing that film whenever it first came out. Rather good, but it's probably not everyone's cup of tea.

Wikipedia calls it a "animated surreal adventure film".
