The new Aliens vs. Predator game (really the 3rd one) out next month is only €23.50 for the PC version on www.Play.com.

Considering the multiplayer co-op, this looks set to be a must buy. Haven't seen it any cheaper.

Quite cheap on amazon.co.uk £18.26, though P&P is £6.03 making it total £24.29, but if you buy a 2nd item to bring the cost over £25 you get free P&P which could be a false economy depending on whether you need the 2nd item :D

will it have cd protection? i have been buying all my games on steam cos I can't stand touting cds around with my gaming laptop. Quake Wars etc don't have this GHEYness, but the retail for AvP is WAY cheaper. really hard to get this info

According to play.com you can enter the voucher code in steam to avail of the preorder bonus, which suggests the cd key will be recognised by steam, so you wont need the cd at all...

link please! according to this steam release, that won't work for AvP (only a very small subset of games):

I'm going on the "Pre-Order bonus skins require Steam account for activation & download" line from the play.com page, it's only pure speculation at this stage.
If you want a guarantee of it working, you'll have to wait until closer to the launch date really...

There's no word on the game having any copy protection other than steam at the moment, and it seems to have features like steam cloud/leaderboards/achievements integrated, so I'd almost put money on me being right at this stage.

The list you linked to isn't really relevant for future releases by the way, they didn't add MW2 to it until well after release.
