Depending at what time of the year you send it in.
Any correspondence sent in around this time of the year takes longer to get processed due to the increase in post regarding refunds for last year etc.
It also depends on the district too. Some district/regions may be busier at different times of the year. On a whole, January is usually one of the busiest times of year.

At a guess, it could take up to 8 weeks if not longer in some districts.

Unemployment repayments are usually pushed up the pile & processed first, or asap, as they are deemed to be high priory items. So, your claim should be dealt with quicker than any backlog for "normal" claims.

To be fair, i have to say the revenue were very fast when processing my P.50. I began claiming last July, the 8 weeks is the time you have to wait before actually claiming, in other words you have to be unemployed for a minimum of 8 weeks before submitting your claim. Once sent and if you have submitted it to the correct address (Roslare Harbor) along with the section of P.45 Requested you should get word and hopefully payment if entitled within one week. The first payment is the Highest amount of refund and it decreases thereafter. I continued to claim and got three payments over a six month period. This all of course dependent of whether or not you have paid allot of tax. Its important to note, if you get an initial payment they will send you another form to continuing claiming until your entitlement has run out, so hold onto this. Finally, the second option is claiming repayment of tax due to leaving the country, here you get a lump sum but this is only applicable if you are actually leaving the country.

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.
