Working Holiday VISA Austrailia - Accountancy Work

    Hey

Just recently applied and got my working holiday visa and was curious as to the work scenario in Austrailia currently. I know that it has been holding up better than most countries. Just qualified as a chartered accountant in November. I know in the past there were great opportunities for accountancy in OZ

Just wondering if anyone has any insight or views and opinions on any of the following.

    1. I would ultimately like to get work in Sydney as I know a few people out there already (not working in accountancy). however is there much work out there or where is the best place in austrailia to get accountacy work.

    2. Also I'd like the opportunity to perhaps work out there greater the 3/6 months or so. Perhaps 12 months or longer. Is it commonplace to start a contract out there with the possibility of being able to be kept on for longer still .. or has this practice stopped due to economy slowing down abit etc...

    3. Is there the possibility of having work lined up before you go out? I doubt this as I am sure that recruiters/employers want to meet candidates before offering any jobs, but just curious. Does anyone know who are the best accountancy recruiters?

    4. I worked with a medium sized firm which would not be widely known. does this affect my chances of getting a job because I don't have a big 4 name (KPMGs etc...) on my CV.

5.Also I havent worked for a good number of months, could this affect getting work?

    6. Is there much casual work available if it took a number of weeks to get sorted with an accountancy job?

Alot of questions but if anyone wants to hit on any of these that would be great. :)
