Moving a Budda Bag

    Hi Guys,

I've got a maxi-budda, the one that fits three people. I love it! Problem is that I'm moving house at the weekend. Does any one have any advice on how to move it? Last time I moved I put some of the stuff from the middle into black plastic bags and was able to get it through the doors. But I'm just wondering if there is an easier way?

    Cheers,

    Dan.

We have the same one and have moved it twice - there is no easy way! Taking some of the foam out will help though, but they are a pain to move. We normally use 2/3 people and a van to transport it and that seems to work. I would take the outer bag off so that it doesn't get damaged.

I had a feeling this was the case (I emailed the budda bag company for a few tips but got no response!!!).

We also managed to rip the inner bag which we think happened during moving - it has a 'lifetime' guarantee but it took a solid 40 minutes of arguing to get a replacement bag.

Wow, speak of the devil, just got a reponse from the Budda Bag Co:

"As you know, your inner bag was delivered to you vacuum-packed in order
to fit into the packaging. The best way to transport it now would
clearly be to vacuum pack it again, but this might require equipment too
large for you to get hold of. We have heard from customers who managed
to repack their Budda Bags by sheer brute force and determination, but
I'm not sure I'd be able to do it!

Perhaps you could try using strapping to squash your bag to a practical
size. You should remove the cover and protect the inner bag with
plastic before doing anything too forceful"

Moving the bag wasn't the ordeal I had envisaged in the end. It took two people.

If you remove the outer cover you can squish it down quite a bit by jumping on it and then holding together the resulting loose bits of the internal cover. Also, when you are getting it through doors it's better to ease it through by pulling on it in a side to side motion rather than up and down.
