For JCer's, the mocks are the first ever full paper that you will sit. Probably the most important thing that the mocks should be used for IMO is timing, as you are more than likely not gonna be sitting a full paper again between the mocks and the actual exam come June.

By pure accident, I found this link http://www.mocks.ie/index/timeandmarksbreakdown# which gives a sample breakdown of time for many exams, both leaving and junior cert level. Getting the timing right is huge!

Just a few words of advice about the mocks, and a few points about the real paper

Results - though the companies setting the mocks try to have the paper as close to an SEC on as they can, the results can be flawed, you may get higher or lower, don't assume that you will get what you got in the mocks in the real thing!

June - there is plenty of time between now and June to get work in, remember that for some teachers (in my experience) are only getting to finish the courses now, there is plenty of time for revision

Worry - don't stress about them, being over stressed and tired can lead you to doing poorer in the exams, as I said above, there is plenty of time. Try and keep calm in the exam, if you start to freak out, you won't think of the answer, take a deep breath and relax, you have more of a chance of the answer coming to you if relax rather than panic

Timing - try and get the timing of the exam right, don't run over time, which causes stress when you know you have 10 mins to go, and you still have a full question to go

Positive - think positive rather than negative, don't go into an exam saying, oh I am going to fail it, go in and try and pass it! Positivity works!

Equipment - have all the biros etc and stuff ready the night before, make sure you have calculators that are working

Sleep - have adequate sleep the night before an exam, it is more than important, without enough sleep your brain isn't able to function to its ability, and remember those French verbs or Business formula that you glanced at!

In the exam, take time to read the paper correctly, some people like to glance through the whole paper first, some read each section as they do it, what ever suits you. I would suggest ticking off each questions as you have done it to make sure you don't come back and do it again. Label the questions neatly and accurately. Attempt all the necessary questions, blanks get you 0 marks, some form of an answer has the possibility to get you marks! Probably come the JC itself, you will have a plan about what questions you will and won't do, so stick to that plan in the exam!

Hope this helps some bit and best of luck with it!!
