they told you or are you referring to some threads here?
most high end shops dont do the meanial stuff like fix punctures or easy stuff like that, but truing wheels is a pretty standard thing for a bikeshop to do in my exp. 5-10min job.

Cyclelogical told me they only work on wheels that were bought from the shop. However on another occasion they did true a wheel I didn't buy from them, so it would appear that they do it when they feel like it. FWIW, the truing job lasted less than a week.

if you are stuck.. I know the shop in newbridge does true wheels. 40 mile trip though. and you will be waiting.

Humpries in Finglas. They serviced and trued my very out of shape Powertap wheel. It was expensive (€60 I think) but they did replace bearings and the wheel has not needed truing since.

Cliff in Cycleogical has built, rebuilt and then trued one of my wheels, but it didn't stay true for very long. I am very hard on wheels though (cyclocrossing my Powertap wheel and regular gratuitous bunnyhopping). The guy in Humphries was unimpressed by my lack of mechanical sympathy - I had managed to ovalise the wheel.

edit: this recommendation is now in question. I have some doubt that they ever replaced the bearings.

My wheels didn't have a buckle as such ... but just slightly out of true from constant use on Dublin streets.

Mr. Skeff fixed with rest of stuff. As of today morning, over 1800 kms on both and still pretty good. I also got the hubs serviced by Mr. Skeff at the same time.

Me thinks, it will be time to redo the whole lot in another months time.

And as long as you don't need spares which he does not have lying about .... you could have it done as you chat ... not many bike shops offer this.

Alternatively, if you catch CSS on a light afternoon .. they are good at doing things as you wait too but definitely more expensive option
