Transfers from Alicante to Torrevieja

    Small problem... I'm arriving at Alicante airport at 9.50 in the evening & I need to get to Torrevieja.

    There is no direct bus which means (I think) that I will have to bus in to Alicante bus station & try get a connection to Torrevieja. At 11 in the evening I don't think that will work??? Even if I'm lucky enough to get a connection, I'm told that the bus journey takes over 2 hours!!!

    A taxi will cost me €60 - €70.

    1 day car hire is €116.00. I'm staying 9 days & I can hire a car for €190.00 for 9 days but I don't really need a car.

    Is it possible to bum a ride on one of the charter buses? ;) I don't mind paying a few €. Who do I ask?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Intresting post OP because it looks like we are going to have the same problem if we go over for a week in july and like you only found out last night on google about the difficulty of getting to Torrevieja from Alicante or Almeria airport .

    We will be in a party of eight and unless we do the trip to down town Alicante bus station ( assuming the bus connections still running ) it's looking like we will have to get two taxis .

    Hey Latchy... Having weighed up the pros & cons, I'm probably going to hire a car for the 9 days but if you're interested, these guys were highly recommended on www.tripadvisor.co.uk

    Thanks Jerry , tripadvisor is pretty good for help and information in these situations and have plenty of time to decide our plan :)
