I'm just wondering could anyone give me an idea of the cost of a denture with a single tooth on it? I'm not sure if there is different types or anything, I'm just looking for a basic denture to fill the gap.

These dentures are really only for the short term and cost about 150-300 euro. Better get a fixed replacement like a bridge, implant etc. Give us more info ?????

Thanks Fitz, yeah i had my tooth next to my front ones extracted and just want something to fill the gap, I don't think I could afford an implant at the moment and am just looking for something while I'm waiting really.

bkelly, ask for a steel strengthening bar in the denture. Its placed in the area where the denture tooth joins the main body of the denture and reduces the risk of it fracturing when you bite on something hard. Usually it is added at no cost to the patient.

Thanks Davo, do you know if I could go straight to a dental lab to get the denture or would i have to go to a dentist first?

go directly 2 the denturist who makes the teeth. I'tl b cheaper as youll have no dentist 2 pay

Yeah dentists are a waste of time, you spend money to ensure instruments are sterilized before they are put in your mouth, diagnosing the problem, being properly qualified to work in patients mouths, being able to take xrays, having public liability insurance, professional indemnity insurance, being able to adjust teeth if necessary to better fit a denture, give local anesthetic, do fillings if needed, etc.

Do you have a medical card?

i'm having trouble pronouncing that bit. are dental technicians allowed to make impressions here??

No dentist, no comeback if it goes wrong as labs are not legally supposed to take impressions etc. It may be cheaper to go direct to lab but if it breaks/doesn't fit/looks wrong it will be your fault.
