Fas and dole payments

    My brother is doing an ecdl fas course,he is receiving the amount he was getting prior to starting the course. I was under the impression once you start a fas course your payment gets bumped up to the full amount you could with the dole 196 euro.

    Am i wrong or has there been an oversight in his case?

    It depends on why he was getting a reduced rate to start with. My dh was a qualified adult on my payment, when he did a FAS course he got the training allowance for himself, the full rate.

    Depends on age.

    If aged 18 or over and on full time course, they get 196.00
    Aged 15/16 years 79.90
    Aged 17 Years 99.80

    He was getting a reduced rate because he is living with his girlfriend and is 21.

    No problem to thread jacking! more questions answered the better.
