Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Silly martial arts movie with poor dialogue, and poorer acting.
And a very surprising amount of gore.

I did enjoy the Europol sub-plot actually.

    Did anyone else see it?

I wouldn't mind seeing it to be honest.

    Ninja + Assassin + 18's rating = My ass in a seat.

Can't imagine it to be fairly high-brow but I'll try to watch it nonetheless

Yeah...obviously it would be foolish to see it expecting and Oscar winner.

    Just back from this myself.

Terrible story, terrible dialogue, terrible acting... but I was squeaking with glee throughout.

The fight scenes are fantastically done. The scene set in
the ninjas' HQ at the end, where Raizo fights with cinders falling around him
was stunning. The gore was brilliantly done also.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes cheesy action films.

I liked Ninja Assassin, much in the way that I sometimes like old swashbuckling movies. A lot of old movies have rather poor action scenes (Some of them have incredible swordfights of course, anything with Errol Flynn or Basil Rathbone or a Fairbanks, but anyway) but the movies themselves are enjoyable all the same.

I'm not trying to be funny or sarcastic, I honestly liked and enjoyed the movie. I just can't stand the shaky camera quick-cutting style used for the action scenes. I think there was actually some good choreography and stunt work in the movie, it's just I had to guess at it mostly, as I couldn't make head or tail of what was going on a lot of the time.

I loved the look of parts of the movie, I liked the atmosphere, I found Rain very charismatic and likeable.

I'd love to see an alternate edit with about 10% as many cuts in the action scenes.
