    For the 5/6 string bass players here on Boards, what exercises do you find useful? Probably the most useful (and fun) one that I know is a simple arpeggio pattern based on the major scale e.g. here it is for D major on a six string bass:

    [PHP]C||
    2
    G||
    2
    2
    D||

    E||
    2--5
    5--2
    B||--3

    And for E:

    [PHP]
