iPhone 3Gs - Imported contacts from old SIM are garbled???

    I have upgraded from a Sony Ericsson K800i to an iPhone 3Gs.

    After inserting the SIM card, I then went to Contacts and chose Import from SIM.

    Unfortunately, something is lost in translation. The numbers are fine, but the names are a mess. Some are the right way round, some are back to front (e.g. Rebecca: Mobile, appears as :Mob Rebecca)

    When I have, say, a mobile, work and home number for someone, I input it as Rebecca: Home, Rebecca: Mobile etc.....

    I can edit these on the phone to correc them, but with over 300 contacts, that will take ages.

    Is there any way I can do the editing on my desktop and then transfer the edits to the phone?

    Sync the contacts to Windows Address Book, Windows Contacts or Outlook. Edit them there and sync them back.

    Or change the sort order to First Name first and last name last. :D
