    theres is a thread about reservists/pdf in airsoft
    why is that allowed and not this?
    ask in the rs forums who owns airsoft and you'll be
    politely asked to **** off to the airsoft forum

    This forum is for discussing airsoft devices, not real steel firearms. The thread about PDF/RDF personnel playing airsoft doesn't discuss the use of firearms.

    unfortuntlay reel steel and airsoft do not have the best of relationships and both parts normal keep the topics appart for the sack of both partys

    The latter part is true and dates back to the start of this forum (and I know because I'm the one who said it should be that way); but it's not because of a poor relationship, it's because at the time, airsoft had only just been deregulated, the 1J limit hadn't been introduced, but it was anticipated that something would be introduced, especially after incidents like gardai being shot at with them by gurriers. The seperation between rs and airsoft at that point was for public opinion reasons - rs didn't want to be seen by the public as being anything like shooting at people, and airsoft didn't want to be seen by the public as being anything like real firearms. It wasn't down to acrimony, it was just good PR sense to do things that way. (And it worked, as it turned out).
