I bought it today and to fire the gun you have to pull the bolt back and fire (which will make the puff sound but not fire) then take the mag out and pull the bolt back and it will fire then
I have no idea what is wrong can anyone help ? :S

Dont go messing about with it....if you only bought it today, bring it back to the retailer.

If you muck about with it, its possible you'll be told your warranty is void and you'll have to pay for a repair.

Take it back again and ask for a replacement.

steyr ssg's usually have 2 hop up problems.

    1. the shaft the hopup arm pivots on is usually very tight and gets stuck on full, solution take apart hop up and drill out the hole in the arm slightly (.2mm) so it moves freely.

    2. the hopup itself is made for higher fps so it got a hard nub whitch stops the bb from moving when turned up full.solution replace with a soft nub while your drilling out the arm.

most of the time it a combination of both problems,iv seen them jam a bb anywhere from half ways to full hop some times even when the nubs been changed.so when adjusting start at the bottom (all the way to the barrel end) and move 1 click at a time .you normally should'nt need to go more than half way.if it jams back the hopup off again take out the mag and test fire again if the bb wont come out the second time the arm is jammed and needs drilling.
