Which headphones?

I'm looking for a decent pair of headphones. Ideally, I'd like to be able skip songs from headphones and if possible use them as a hands free kit. Does such a perfect all singing pair of headphones exist?

    Thanks

I've got these and they're amazingly good. Sound is brilliant, if you've ever used any Bose products you won't doubt their quality. The earpiece is quite different to any others I've used, they don't go into the ear canal so don't keep as much sound out as other in-ear ones, but the sound is still great.

They are a little pricey though, so maybe consider the top apple ones which are surprisingly good value. The apple ones are supposed to have significantly better sound quality than the stock ear buds, and the controls are better on them (make sure yours is compatible though).

Anything by Bose or Klipsche are generally amazing (actually consider the Klipsche s4i, which are amazing as well).

I would definitely recommend getting good earphones, totally transforms your appreciation of your music, so in my opinion it really is worth the investment.

not trying to pick a fight here, but an awful lot of people would say if you've heard any stuff in a comparable price range you'd doubt that quality pretty quickly. Bose tend to be overpriced for what they offer and have used a very strong marketing campaign for years to convince people they are high end. in nearly all their range much better performance can be had for less.

not saying you won't try them and love them , just worth researching other options before committing to Bose, you could be very pleasantly surprised. you'll have no trouble finding many people with the same opinion on any of the audio/video forums across the web

I won't argue with you, but I've used a few Bose products over the years and all have been really good, if on the expensive side.
About the earphones the Klipsche one's are stunningly good, and they're about 20% cheaper, so you are, to some extent, paying for the branding with Bose.

    i really wouldn't if i was you.

the standard iphone earphones are made for about a euro (probably even less) and the quality is terrible, even wonder why you hear such **** music on public transport, because the average joe loves to play the latest ****e muse/killers/kings of leon album at full blast through their ipod/iphone because they have to play it at full volume because the earphones 'leak' sound so badly. if you have a proper set of in-ear monitors (IEM's) you don't have to listen at full volume. i listen to my iphone at 45%-ish volume, not only does it save my hearing, it saves on battery too.

those second apple pair will be better, but justifying spending 70 euro on them, i'd rather put that 70 euro towards a pair of klipsche, shure and ultimate ears.

stay away from the apple store, and search www.amazon.com / co.uk and adv. mp3 players

i'd recommend any ultimate ears from here http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/shop/Headphones.6/iPhone.279/?list=1

i have the super vi 5's and they are great although they don't have a microphone because i can live without one.

didn't want to drag it up again, as it got out of hand last time, but the same sentiments ahve been echoed in here as well, you can read my take on the headphones in here as well...

I have these Bose in ears, I think they are superb. Pricey, maybe, but still great. I also have these; Ultimate Ear Super Fi 5 Pro and no offense to Booyah, but they were the biggest waste of money ever! They have the most incredible sound buuuuut they are beyond uncomfortable, thus making the useless.

Check out the iLounge for amazing amounts of info on every type of In-Ear/ Head Phone going.

Cheers for all that advice. I got 2 pairs.
One apple pair, 25 euro for walking around (they do what I wanted, skip songs and are a hands free kit)
I also got a massive pair of sony ones for planes etc which are noise cancelling. I may need an extra seat beside me as they a are slightly bigger than a dustbin!
