Ipod -> iphone accessories compatibility question

So eh...accessories for the ipod....will they work with the iphone? I have a 3gs. Specifically I'm looking at this, but it's a general question.

Some will, some won't. I'd imagine if the transmitter was iPhone compatible it would say so.

I got two car chargers recently (don't ask) and one was compatible with the 3GS the other wasn't. I'd make sure it specifically says 3GS.
