I've bought my previous pairs of boots in resort each time, but many people on here have been happy with buying from shops in Ireland.

I'd highly recommend having a read of the thread on ski boots that is linked to from the F.A.Q. first though, regardless of where buy your boots from.

I'm quite happy to buy in resort, you get a good selection and can usually bring them back if you have problems. I'd hate to discover on the second day of your holiday that the boots you got in Ireland were driving you mad on carved turns.

But in Ireland, you get more time to try on and are not anxious to get straight out onto the snow.

One of the guys on here recommended buying in resort to me on a previous post and suggested I buy them after the first days skiing. I plan to do this in a few weeks when I go. I mailed the shop so I will rent for the first day and buy in the afternoon when I have more time. The guy in the shop said they rent up to date boots so one I may try and go with for rental on the first day I may be able to buy as new. He said he'd give me a full fitting process though anyways just in case there is a better boot for me. As you said buying in resort you always have the option of going back on day 2 or 3 and saying they don't fit 100%.
