Lads, I got to level 70 last night and unlocked the Prestige Mode.

    What is this?

You lose all your unlocks (guns, perks ect.) and basically start again from scratch with new challenges and stuff.

You get an extra custom class slot and a few new emblems.

You gain an extra Create a Class slot and an emblem or summat but start all over again at level one. You've to unlock a your guns, attatchements etc all over again. There's 10 prestiges.

    Thanks, is it worth it?

Depends on how much free time you have...

Not much point doing it unless you're going to go the whole way.

I'd recommend to do it at least once, to unlock the Prestige challenges. That allows you to unlock all the Killstreak/Weapon specific silver/gold skull titles and emblems. The challenges combine with the weapon/killstreak challenges that are already there also, so they make you level up faster if you're looking to prestige a few times.

Plus it means you have one more class to play around with. So have one sniper, one witch, one Airsupport killer, and then you still have three to use for different guns/perks etc depending on the maps.

Personally I'll keep going to 10 if I last at the game long enough. I prestiged after about 3 days playing, so with the Prestige challenges and being better at the game, I'd hope to get that down a good bit this time around.

The problem is that I don't get another extra custom class until Prestige 3. Oh well.

I just prestiged last week. It is kinda fun to go back to zero and try weapons you didn't bother with first time around. I have a new love for the SCAR and the SPAS shotgun. Not to mention that I've finally tried my hand at sniping - the Intervention is working reasonably well for me (I normally never try sniping in shooters) and I'm ending up with more kills than deaths.

However, I miss my claymores and ACR, not to mention Ninja Pro :(

Hit level 70 yesterday and went straight into prestige. Multiplayer isn't half the fun unless you are constantly leveling up and gaining XP.

Makes you a better player imo. Its easy to win games when you you have unlocked all the bells and whistles.

I'm level 68 or so, but probably will prestige when I get to 70 :)

I'm level 68 at the moment also, although I don't think I'll prestige for a good while as I'm thinking of trying to get some of the gun challenges of guns that I'm not gonna use again, just to get the emblems etc. and when I prestige, I'll stick to the ones I like

When I got to lvl 70 I pretty much prestiged straight away. I wanted the extra custom class slot, and my classes were getting a little crazy. Didn't know what I was doing with them, they were constantly changing. Now its a lot simpler, although I do miss some of the pro perks and claymores.

Definitely makes you a better player prestiging. Will do it once and then trying to get all the challenges done on all the weapons. Will probably get bored before I do but hwhat the heck.

Like the OP I didnt know what prestige was the first time I got it in a CoD game and I asked.Got a the same reply as the OP but I thought he was joking!!:o
