    Hi,

Not exactly a child, he is 13-years-old..

I am planning on taking my cousin to a football match in the Uk in the coming weeks, what's the procedure for granting his access to travel with me?

A few years ago, i had no trouble taking my younger brother to London - once they have their own passport and not named on their parents, they can travel without the parent.

I got this bit of info from the ryanair site, though it refers to unaccompanied minors - while your cousin will be accompanied.

Once you've both got passports there is very little to worry about. In the highly unlikely event of being stopped by immigration then they would possibly want to see some proof that you have permission to take the child between UK-Ireland. Being stoped by them going into the UK is less likely than a very unlikely thing, but if you both have the same name they would never notice anything to question anyway.

    Flying.

Thanks Robinph - our surnames are different.

I guess I will ask them both to write a letter and have it signed by the Gardaí.

    Thanks for the info+link Concorde.

Thanks to everyone for taking to respond, appreciate it.
