    Guys,

Am looking for a new laptop. A basic one with windows 7. Normal internet usage and good for holding the usual photos, itunes, etc. A webcam for skype and maybe a good battery life.

Any suggestions or links greatly appreciated. I'm trawling through all the sites and getting a headache.

    Thanks,

    Ozzie.

    PS: Cheaper = Better.;)

Why not have a look at the Aldi on on offer this week of if a good refurbished HP one would do log on to www.bigoffers.co.uk and look at the Computing section.

Have you considered a netbook OP? Cheap, small, great battery and will do everything you need. Most come with Windows 7 starter or you can install the pro version if you really need to.

My sincere apologies, OP. I gave you the wrong info re the bigoffers site. The lappys there are all Toshiba.

...looking at new laptop options myself.

    http://www.acerdirect.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_7738_Laptop_LX.PFT0X.203/version.asp?switchc=e

    Briefly:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo processor T6600
    RAM: 4GB RAM
    Hard Drive: 320GB SATA
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
    - Windows 7 Upgrade? - Click here for more details
    Screen: 17.3" 1600 x 900
    Optical Drive: Blu-Ray Combo
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M 1GB DDR3
    Bluetooth: Yes
    Notebook Camera: Integrated
    Warranty: 1 Year

And all for 600 euro or so. I think they charge around 30 euro shipping from the uk.
