Well I was issued with ZV 9446 this morning (Fri 22nd)

They're being used at a slower rate than in the past, and my guess at the current rate of issue, there's still 12-15 months left to get a 4 digit plate.

Was up there Thursday morning to register my Princess and ZV 9446 was going to be my reg!
However, they didn't have a Stat Code for my car so I have to wait a few days 'til they get a code from Rosslare before I can get it re-registered.

I bought the car in November, went to the VRT office a few days later, to discover that part of the UK VC5 document was missing so they couldn't process the details.
The document had to be sent to the the DVLA in Wales for a new one and a permanent export cert to be issued to me.
That was only returned to me last Monday!

Still, at this stage, another week of waiting won't kill me.

The VRT issued me with a stamped cover letter in case of being stopped by the Gardai.
However, I won't have the car out in the meantime anyhow.

What does amaze me is that in this age of IT and fast communications, that the process of attaining simple forms/codes is so slow!

So, it will be interesting to see what ZV **** number I end up with.

    Tony

Would be a great week to register a Porsche 944!

EDIT: Just remembered there's none over 30 years - doh!

Well I went into the VRO with no V5C on Wednesday 13th and filled out a form to get a stat code. Amazingly (given my previous experiences) I got a call back on Wednesday 20th. Went in to sort it out on Thursday afternoon, but the cc was wrong (my fault, dodgy memory :o) and really wanted the minor error corrected, so it became a next day job. For a change I got up bright and early and got ticket no 1. :pac:

unkel, nothing new, I just finally got round to getting off my backside and registering the DAF which I brought in on the 15th March last year.

Now I got to sort the plates...

The DVLA have been known to be quite quick and dish out a new V5C on a change of keeper in around 5 days. I blame An Post myself ;)

    Tis a lovely wedge!

Forgive my laziness (in not trying to search for threads), but is that the one that was stolen and crashed or another one?

The stolen and crashed one was registered 73-D-978

ZV 9446 is another one (my sig has been unaltered for months) ;)

Good to hear there's still a few 4-digit left. Planning on re-reging my 79 D to a ZV in the next week or so!

5 days for a reg book here? A month is more like it here. And it's frankly getting a bit dodgy for me, as the vehicle for me is a bike, cheap tax but the penalty isn't cheaper:eek:.

    Apologies if this has been A&A'ed but is there anywhere online where I can see current ZV plate designation? Am toying with the idea of going from;
81 CE *** to ZV *** or ZV ** *** if has gone higher

    Cheers...

How does it work changing if you live in a different county when swapping. e.g. Original CE reg, but re-reg done with owner in Dublin, Dublin allocation or Clare?

VRO I'd say, they have their allocation regardless of your address.
