    Hey,

I am a etailer and currently use peel out shipping labels which is on plain paper. Which means if the address label gets wet the ink runs.

I am looking for water/weather/splash proof labels compatible with an INKJET printer that is peel out & has a packing slip to built in.

Any one know where to get one?

    Thanks

The problem is the inkjet as the ink is water-based. Laser printed labels are much better.

Lots of courier companies have the address / documents in a plastic pouch.

Thanks for the reply. Would it be worth my while to buy a Laser printer? Are the laser lables cheaper?

We use a brother label printer in work with these film type labels... They're the business, be lost without them. Lables are waterproof so would be great for shipping labels.

We use them to label our assets, used to use paper labels but they'd wear down very fast and the ink just gets smudged off...

    Same labels.

Although people are pointing out alternatives.

I would consider one of the specialised label printers mentioned. You can get higher-end ones too.

Test your laser printer and labels for water-fastness before shipping too much stuff. A startup I know of shipped out its first batch of product in the US with dodgy laser printed labels. It was an older laser printer the guy had lying around. It was the damp part of the year, and their boxes lost their address details in the UPS system. Was very embarassing.

You can get inkjet stock that is supposed to be more waterproof than your regular label.

Op I would suggest a Dymo label printer you can get them in all sizes and the interface is very good with excel, word, etc... also they do not use ink and the labels are waterproof and quite cheap.

I have a few of them but the best one in my opinion is the 450 its a nice small and very quick machine.

I have had a look at dymo but would like a peel off label & packing slip in one.

Laser is probably the way to go so.

other thing you could do is to get a transparent sticker to go over the label and protect it. I cannot see these stickers available anywhere however, but it might be worth searching.

    Hi OP

I sell a waterproof label for use with a Laser Printer. It is basically the same setup as an Avery type label. A4 Page, 1,2,4 or 8 labels per page.

Most of my customers use them for printing Chemical Labels. To pass IMDG regulations (Regs for transporting Haz goods by sea) they are tested to survive for up to 3 months under water, so waterproof is a given.

You would have to get a Laser Printer of course, but it doesn't have to be an expensive one and you will be able to use it for your other office printing as well.

    If you're interested, PM me.
