Hi.I'm a bit of a novice at computers, but my desktop was running very slow and noisy the other night so I went online for a solution.

This guy recommended that i go to 'system config 'and disable everything in either i think it was start up or services and then the computer would run faster and quiter..Duh!!!

This has led to a chain of problems.

my computer now has no sound..In sound and audio device properities ,its saying there is no sound device. the volume is at zero on the scale and everything i click on wont work.
My Realtek high definition audio disappeared and I can't get it to reload from the disc..keep getting this message :Windows Bus driver must be loaded first.. I have looked for this online but can't find one that works.

    I cannot play Divx movies

    Device manager is now blank.

When I try to restart 'Windows audio in services.. i get this message.. Could not start windows audio on local computer. error 1068 ; The dependency group failed to start.

Task bar on the bottom of the page is now 'white' use to be blue in colour

Avast is periodically flashing a message that it is blocking an attack ,i think it called 'DCOMB'

When starting Firefox I get this message :The procedure entry point except_ handler_4 could not be located in the dynamic link libary msvrt.dll

    Help!!
