    http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/10/01/21/apple_extends_27_in_imac_shipment_delay_to_3_weeks.html

I'd love to know what's going on here. It is starting to get ridiculous. Is it just a supply problem due to demand - or perhaps to factory strikes in China? Or is it down to Apple trying to fix the yellow screen problem? They won't say either way. And going by the Macrumours forum it seems people are still getting "yellow iMacs", even after the 2 week wait.

Anyone here with the 27 inch have any screen problems?

I wonder if an early refresh is possible...

dont know about imacs but i remember when the intel MBP came out first i ordered it on the first day and received it 2 months later, with an american keyboard.

i had a right go at them because they basically left me with out a computer for 2 months when i could have gotten something else.

communication is the main problem here, they would be better off saying that we are currently having some problems with this machine and until we are 100% satisfied we will not be shipping any... we will keep you updated.

sounds to me like they dont want to admit the problems

There is a big write up on Gizmodo about it. Serious problem with yellow screens and flickering.

Sorry bout the link, I'm on the mobile.

apple are having huge problems with video faults from the logic boards on the 27" iMacs. There is a significant failure rate. I'd imagine they have to halt production to get a new batch in

Ordered a 27 inch i5 in the black friday sale. Two week lead time and arrived 5 days early. Haven't had a problem with the machine apart from the fact I just can't get the mighty mouse to work in windows 7 under bootcamp.

People were still getting problem machines even after waiting 2 weeks though. So I'm not so sure anymore that the delays have anything to do with the screen problems. But perhaps a firmware patch can fix it.

I believe the ASPs are replacing the logic boards, so I'd imagine any supply problems could be related to Apple having to channel extra boards to the service providers to replace faulty units.
