The DSFA is experiencing a backlog in processing all claims.

However, you could try to telephone the local office and ask them for an answer on how long its likely to take to process the claim. Or ask them the next time you sign on in the local office.

Usually, you will receive written notice in the post telling you that your claim has been allowed or disallowed. If its unsuccessful it will tell you the reason for disallowing the claim and it will detail the process of how to appeal the decision and the time in which that has to be done.

Have you applied for supplementary welfare allowance while you are waiting for your JSA claim to be processed? This can be done by attending in person the CWO clinic in your local health office. Its advisable to telephone the LHO to find out the times that the CWO sits in your health centre.
