If you buy the mbox new it comes with the latest protools, make sure to update from version 8.0 to 8.03 or whatever its called.

If you have snow leopard i think there's still a few glitches with it but it doesn't cause too much hassle

All the compatibility details are on Digidesign's website. www.digidesign.com

    AVA,
Any Irish dealer should be able to match Thomann's price.

Even if there is some small difference is it not worth it to you to have somebody to give you the advice you say you need ?
10 , 20 Euro difference ... is it not worth it , rather than being stuck ?

I would always give an Irish dealer an opportunity to quote. If there is a difference between them and an internet store, ask them to match or lower their price.

Electronic gear/software can be a minefield. Any reputable Irish shop should give you proper advice and the most important thing backup.
This is indispensable and worth extra to me. How much extra, if any, is up to you to decide.

The Irish store I deal with give me excellent service and backup, and all at
virtually the same as elsewhere. Your milage may vary.
