A man has been found dead on a bus in Maynooth, Co Kildare this evening.
The man, who was in his 40s, boarded the bus at Heuston Station in Dublin at around 7pm this evening.
When the bus reached the terminus in Maynooth, the man was dead.
The fire brigade had to be called to remove the roof of the bus so the man could be removed from the vehicle.
His body has been taken to Naas General Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.
Gardaí in Naas are investigating and the bus has been preserved pending the results of the post-mortem examination.

Just from a view of ES crews - was there any need to cut the roof off?

Possibly a 17 Seater Ford Transit Minibus or similar (I say 17 seater as they are cramped for working space)
There are too many variables really, only the on scene crew would know the reasons for directing the roof be cut off.

Wouldnt be the first time and probably wont be the last time, I had thought it strange that a bus roof was being removed.

The media got something wrong. Somebody should start a campaign, or something.

Ah a window removed sounds better than the whole roof being removed. Was wondering what was going on alright.

Unreal isn't it. Ignorance or laziness or both, I dunno.
