Hey i wondering how good an indicator the market value you can calculate from revenue.ie is compared the price of which cars are bought for on the ground.

    https://www.ros.ie/VRTEnquiryServlet/showCarCalculator

It seems that typical the first asking price on ads carzone etc. is a good bit more than that calculated on the webpage above.
Since I would have no trade in , Is it realistic to try ad bargain a dealer down to the value given on that page, or would they refuse to go down that low because it would not include a mark up for them. Or is the revenue page a bad guide.

A dealer will completely ignore anything you bring in from the VRT calculator.

The only things they'll worry about is what the car stands them and what their competition are selling cars for.

While the Revenue VRT calculations mean nothing to sellers I have found the ROS site dare I say it generous recently. Given how they don't really have encentive to be generous I thought it was interesting.
