Anybody on here have this ? I got it on monday and sweet jesus what a brilliant set of dvds, got the whole lot including shipping for $47. It helps that I have a DVD player that could play region 1 dvds.

Great to not have to wait for sky to show the same ones over and over again. Watching the 1973 dolphins as I'm typing.

Is it the Superbowl I-XL collectors edition you have?
Where did you get it for $47? That is a good price.

Don't have the entire collection but I have all of the 49ers episodes. All are a very good watch. Keep meaning to get the complete history DVD's especially the Browns one which I've been told is the best.

Everytime it comes on on sky sports, I'm glued to it. Dont suppose its available anywhere on region2 dvd, or blueray?

Don't think there's been any released on Blueray but I'm not 100% sure. It's usually very easy these days to either find or make a DVD player region free.

Dont get me started. Hacking my dvd player requires fort knox-like security codes. Think I might just bite the bullet and invest in a new one.

Great box set, I got it when it came out.

They need to stop making these for another 15-20 years though, the new ones just dont have the same impact.

I have the Missing Rings series on the ole Sky box to, they need to get them out on DVD aswell

    Absolutely agree.

The impact of Peyton Manning or Tom Brady's achievements are something that will send shivers up their spines someday. But right now those guys aren't looking at the past, they're looking at the future.

Bit late now, i guess. But Sky have been showing every episode of America's game over the past week or so. I think I mentioned this in another thread a few days ago.

10 is more than adequate in my opinion. The Broncos ones were very good. Although whilst some of the newer ones have been average, the Colts in 06, Steelers in 05 and Pats in 01 were very good I thought. Leaving some time is optimal though.

I'd like them to go more into the Missing Rings features they had. They were interesting. They seem to go for 4/5 new episodes of those types of docs every year now. In 2008 it was the Missing Rings and Giants and this year the AFL in Colour (great series too) and the Steelers (worst America's game yet).

I agree the 08 Steelers episode is the worst, the 07 Giants a close 2nd.

I saw the AFL Full Color Football series, the best NFL Films work to date IMO.

I'd love another series of the Missing Rings alright. Some teams I'd like to see would be : 1980 Eagles, 1987 Browns (get the Drive & the fumble in there), late 70s or early 90s Oilers and if they did expand to teams that have won the Super Bowl, 1977 Broncos, 1972 Redskins, mid 90s Chiefs, late 60s/early 70s Rams, 1984 Dolphins, 1976 Patriots

Love these too, although my favorite one is the Giants 2007 one, seems to go more indepth, and Strahan taking the p**s out of Eli is hilarious

I caught the 1970 Colts I think. Was very good. Watched the 2005 Steelers before the superbowl. Was really good I thought. Cower seems like a nice guy, Porter a complete bad-ass and Bettis is a hero. The team wearing his college jersey on the way to Detroit was a nice touch.

I agree with the idea that America's Games programmes should be held off for a good few years, that way it's great to see the players look back.

I really enjoyed '66 Jets. Don Maynard was hugely admirable watching it.

There is an inverse nature to America's Game. The better the team is the worse the episode is. I mean what can you say about the 49ers in 89. The Steelers from 1970's, in a sense they have to tell the story over 4 episodes. The best stories tend to be the 1 time winners as you feature the main guys and is less spread out.

Dont really agree with that, I love the fact we get to hear from the likes of Mike Wagner, Randy Grossman & Rocky Bleier.
As for the 49ers, alot of the players there in 88/89 werent there for all 4, so you are getting a fresh prospective.

The thing that is really missing & would make the America Game series perfect would be if Joe Montana & to a lesser extent Terry Bradshaw had made an appearance in an episode...
