    Please vote in every category!

My thanks to Risteard who took it upon himself to vote for every single option of every category on the poll. :D

Thomond if there was a category for most improved poster in the history of boards I'd vote for you.

Your transition from village idiot(no offence indended) to being in the top 3 most valuable posters on the forum in 12 months is nothing short of spectacular. What I like is that you've developed a genuine understanding of the game and dont just churn out the same posts over and over again.

    Well 4%, I'm no host, I am simply a facilitator. :D

size=everything won't be with us for a while, he was meant to post up polls himself you see.

I take it upon myself to do a lot of things on the forum, updating the injury thread for example. It's something I like doing.

    Anyway, get your votes in!

    Poll closes 9:32pm tommorrow folks.

Only 23 users (2 of which voted for every option so their votes are worthless) have voted and yet this thread has 400+ views.

Should of done the light hearted ones such as most likely to be banned and biggest stirer.

Just seems too formal now and all the fun has been taken out of it.

The whole thing is a sham, not surprised people haven't bothered to vote. The thread starter is nominated in two categories and is bumping the thing left right & centre. Impartial fail much?

    Fair enough.

Feel free to start your own thread if you think you can be fairer/better. The categories listed were the most popular among the nominations in the nomination thread.

I am being totally impartial, all of the nominees were nominated fairly.

All I can say is I tried.

You say its a sham but cite an 'impartial fail' because of the awards?

You could learn a thing or two from Thomond, his posts have improved so much over the last year and he is now one of the most impartial posters on this forum, and probably one of its best contributors.

For Christ sake man, its a bit of fun.

But why didn't you include the funny ones? The fact that you've turned this into a formal affair is pathetic. It seems that because you've been nominated for 2 of the awards you want this to be taken as a serious thing and not the light hearted fun it was intended to be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭Risteard

Fair enough if they have. I have no problem if you want to set up 'awards' or whatever but I just don't see the point. The fact that there was little discussion on it and it had to have kept being bumped tells you that not alot of other people did either.

EDIT: btw it has nothing to do with who started it, I just think these types of things are a load of nonsense.

Again, the funny ones have very few nominations, pointless exercise.

If you want to have a light hearted awards thread, by all means go ahead and start it.

Didn't want to be too obvious. I reckon he is pimping it because he is not winning in one or two of his nominations.

He has been gunning for modship the past few months. Thanking moderators whenever they post, taking it upon himself to direct threads. Not to mention his comments praising his contributions such as the injuries thread etc. and as for being 'impartial' its all an act that is quite clear
Remember when the mods said they would introduce a new mod? Thomond2006 repeatedly bumped that thread asking when etc.

I do agree with this and it annoys me but in fairness Thomond does a lot of good on the forum, and has changed his style a lot. Maybe you could take a leaf eh?? As for "gunning for modship", as if thats a glorified title!! Im sure toome des crash and ruggie are all hallowed when they walk down the street and get free meals in fancy resturaunts and ****. In fact I hear toome has a minion whose only use is to fan him if and when Yorkshire's temprature goes above 7 degrees. Give it a rest will ye!

I havent replied to any of the forum awards threads and I dont intend to but done give out about a poster because he keeps it going. I agree with Risteard when he says "it has nothing to do with who started it, I just think these types of things are a load of nonsense", unlike other posters who seem to want to use any stick to beat certain other posters with. Internet posting isnt a competition ffs!

Also to whoever said about "leaving out the funny ones" dont you think most biased and most likely to get banned etc would only lead to petty squabbles.

Have to sat I enjoy Thomonds posts now, and pay much more attention to them than any of the guys here complaining.

In all fairness, Rugby doesn't get 20% of the traffic that AH does, or soccer (dunno if there were awards in soccer).

I dont quite follow you there. Why would you voting change the nature of your posts, which are usually on the border of trolling, and almost always decrying other posters. This sums up pretty succinctly a lot of the oneupmanship that goes on

Oh dear, me saying I was going to vote was in jest. I already stated that I think the whole thing was a sham so I was hardly going to go and vote on it. Maybe you should lay off the accusations as well, my only point on this thread was the lack of impartiality.

Funny you mention that he's been gunning for it for a few months. Considering your join date is January 2010, this leads me to two conclusions.

1- You've been a long time lurker on the thread but never felt the urge to contribute anything before january.

    or

2- You're a recent frequent poster on this forum who received a nice little ban and now has 2 accounts to avoid said ban.

This may be off topic... but the thread seems to have gone that way anyway. It's lovely to see a thread in this forum where people are involved in silly bickering and pointless negativity that has nothing to do with the red/blue divide!

Back on topic - this was a bit of fun, hope to see it again next year and hope to see it better supported too.
