I have been driving for 6 months.I had a 00 punto that cost me 750 that gave up on me a month ago.The gearbox and few other things went wrong with the car.I decided to write off the car because it wouldnt be worth my while to repair it.Looking back on it,it was the wrong choice but what can i do now..

A month has gone by and i still havnt found a punto that is right for me..and i was wondering what ye think of this punto. Can ye also recommend another punto within the cork region if you see one within a similar price range.

    http://www.cbg.ie/Car_Detail.aspx?ID=3602909

    01 1.2 punto elx
    85k miles
    nct 10-11
    owners 5

My dad thinks i shouldnt touch it because of the high mileage and owners but i dunno.Do most punto have a high turnover rate due to price range it is in or am i wrong.Secondly would milaege like that on a punto be a no go considering iv already had one perish on me..

I need help asap as all of ye know, once you get used to a car theres no going back

Why are you looking specifically for puntos? I'd look at a fiesta tbh, if you can get a 1.25 zetec i'd go with that over a punto.

If I had problems like this I would be trying other makes like ford, toyota, honda etc. Fiats and renault dont seem to have a good reputation.

    Im 20 years of age,prov license,and male.

I paid a lump sum insurance at the beginning back in june..The only reason im staying with punto is because it keeps the insurance policy simpler.I could have just got a 1.2 astra off my dad but my insurance would rise by 250 for 5months.A 1.25 fiesta would also have risen my insurance by 250.The annoying thing is that i had to cancel my full test exam because i had no car

This ones seems clean and not a bad price either!keep an eye on done deal and something will come up!toyota swift 1L would prob be a better car and a lot less hassle.or even a toyota starlet.

the insurance reason is nonsense. no offence.

Price a 1.25 Fiesta and see how you go.

Forget the 5 owner Punto, chances are it'll be another money pit.
Save another 3 or 4 hundred quid and bargain hard for this instead (one owner according to add):

I reckon it'll cost the same to insure as the Punto.

Two Puntos that would potentially be much better buys than the one you linked to:
    http://www.carzone.ie/search/Fiat/Punto/1.2-ELX-/201003196621358/advert?channel=CARS
    http://www.carzone.ie/search/Fiat/Punto/1.2-16V-/200950196177997/advert?channel=CARS
Don't be afraid to bargain! €300 extra spent on buying a good car could save you €900 fixing a crap one.

Well the plan was to upgrade car in june when the insurance runs out..at this stage i plan on having a full license ,1yrs ncb etc so i should be able to get something a bit better..thats why i dont want to spend too much on this car as well since i only want to hold onto it for 6months anyway

I decided not to go for that punto, for some reason they raised the price from 1100 to 1500 the day before i was meant to take a look at it

Have you checked whether they plan to charge this €250 for changing the insurance to a different punto?
