    ok so i have a number which represents the average of all my results so far

    2.6

    i have two target numbers i would like to get to between now and and the time i graduate

    3.4 or 4.0

    i am in 3rd year of college

    1st year dosnt count
    2nd year has two semesters both of which are weighted at the end to be worth 25% of the total average(so what i have so far,2.6 is only worth 25% of the total average)
    3rd has one semester and that is also worth 25% i am about to begin this semester
    4th year has two semesters and is worth the remaining 50% of the number

    how do i figure out what i need to average in these last 3 semesters to bring my average up to either 3.4 or 4.0?

    sorry if that is not very clear but i cant figure it out so thought someone here might give it a lash

    So, if I have that right you've got 2.6 so far and you've just finished second year.

    (.25)(2.6) + (.75)(X) = 3.4
    .75(X)=2.75
    X=3.67

    So you need an average above 3.67 over 3rd and 4th year if you want an overall GPA of above 3.4.

    Is this what you mean?
