Arent they still €1 each in spar? Which is half the price

I didn't think they were BnM ones tho:confused:

EDIT: It is Spar own-brand firelogs(1.1kg) that are a euro; the Bord Na Mona ones are bigger(1.3kg)and better quality also(I've heard the Spar ones aren't great)

    Nor I:pac:

I do find the BnM ones are better than the majority tho, they are that bit bigger, they last longer and they seem to give better heat. I've paid over €3 for them in various places so to get them for €2 quid each ain't bad :)

You can get money off vouchers from Bord na Monas site - emailed to you for printing http://www.inforthenight.ie/

The thing is tho, are they twice as good?

Cause if not, the spar ones are better value :D

I get the Fiber Flame from Londis - €1.39 each. They're perfectly adequate!

You can also get a 50-cent-off coupon for a BnM firelog at pigsback.com (in grocery coupons section).

You can't use Firelogs on their own... you use them primarily to kick-start a fire!

Using them as a primary source of heat would be daft!

They ain't too bad on their own. It depends on the room you are heating. Some just like the extra bit of a heat from the fire and the firelogs are alright for that.

The BnaM Logs are €2 euro practically everywhere at the moment. The Spar Firelogs do the same job, i.e. light a fire, but you need coal, and turf/briquetes to keep it going. The best option is to use half a Spar/Mace Log €1 log and then pile on the rest

Are these fire logs ok to burn in a stove? If so do they last longer than briquettes.

Sorry, Basquille, you are supposed to use them on their own. The recommmendation is that you should only use them to start up a fire is when they've almost burned out.

I couldn't imagine that at all.. especially in a larger room.

Everyone I talk to about them uses them the same way I do.. use half a firelog to kick-start a fire on these cold-winter evenings with some firelighters, coal and sticks / blocks.

Suppose each to their own though.
