Advice on dealing with problem with a venue

Just looking for some quick advice, maybe I am worrying about nothing. Myself and my OH booked our reception venue for June 2011 between Christmas and New Year. It was a busy time and we had friends over visiting. We only realised later that we had no written terms and conditions, contract or whatever. We have receipts for the deposit, e-mail conversations and it seems to have a number of weddings.

So just after New Year my fiance sent an e-mail asking for a copy of terms and conditions etc. and go no reply. Followed up with an e-mail last week and nothing again. So I rang Monday and the manager/owner was not there, rang three times on Tuesday and finally got to talk to the manager/owner, she says put everything in an e-mail and send it to her. So I sent two e-mails yesterday and she has not even acknowledged receiving them. The venue is a bar, restaurant and brewery, and they are in the process of opening a second brewery just for production, so the manager/owner is very busy.

So what should I do? Am I being unreasonable or should I have received this information by now? It is over two weeks since the initial e-mail, before we made the booking if we sent an e-mail we received a response within 24 hours. BTW e-mail is the manager/owners perferred way of communication.

what's the problem exactly, they haven't replied to your email since yesterday?

i find many businesses are terrible at replying to email quickly.....nothing has gone wrong yet - you have just been dealing with a lazy contact person - just relax a little

No that they have not replied to any e-mails in the last 2 weeks, where as before we gave them any money they would always reply extremely quickly. When I rang yesterday she said I am at my computer now and will send you something. I also said that I could pop in and pick up anything. The person I am dealing with is the manager/owner

I'm sure it's grand OP, but if I were you I would be going there in person to see them.

Also, their preferred contact method might be email- but im sure they have a phone number. Ring and demand to discuss with someone

    Good luck!

Thanks, had tried both. Anyway I rang again tonight, the owner had gone home so I spoke to the events manager instead and he has sorted it out and sent me the details so all is good :)

Thanks to everybody for feedback, mods feel free to lock this if you want.
