Which Hybrid / City Bike

    Hi Folks,
I've search through the previous threads and can't really find my question answered, but apolgise if it has already been.

Basically I'm looking to buy a bike although I haven't cycled in a number of yrs I'd like to get back into it.

I've done a certain amount of research and I think a Hybrid / City bike is the one for me.
I'm looking for a bike that I can cycle in / out of work and also enter a couple of dualthlons on.
I don't really like the handlebars on the 'racer' bikes, prefer the more upright position and the roads I'm be cycling on have quite alot of pot holes so hence the reason I think the Hybrid is the one for me.

My budget is around the €400 gross (this includes the cycle to work tax break)

I've been told the Ridgeback Velocity or Claud Bulter Levant - Can't really find many places in Ireland which are selling these bikes.
Although that could be because don't really know where to look.

Could you please recommend any particular bike that I should look at?

    Thanks very much
