    Hi,
    has anyone done this triathlon?

Have looked at the web site but can't find a huge amount of information on the race.

Have gleaned that it's a sea swim but how sheltered a swim is it?
Is the cycle on a closed road? Is it hilly/flat?
    Ditto the run.

any feedback or information would be gratefully received.
    Thanks

I think I did this back in 2005, not too sure if they have changed the course since then but the swim was in a sheltered bay and when I did it we had to walk out a few hundred meters to get into water deep enough to swim in, the full swim was in water shallow enough to stand in, the bike section was on open roads but well marshaled, I remember the run as it had a bitch of a hill to the very beginning that sapped any remaining energy out of me.

It was only my second ever tri and my last until 2008 (out of action due to vertigo and then laziness) but I might put it onto this years schedule.

    Thanks for that!

I think I remember reading somewhere that the swim was shallow but didn't realise it was that shallow.

It's very competitively priced at 35euro for the race.

    Hilly run - eek!

Is the run out and back or a loop?

    Hilly run - eek!

Only the first kilometer, my memories are 5 years old, lots could have changed since then but back then the run was a loop.

Run is a 6k loop with most of the climbing in the first 2k. After that its fairly flat, if I recall. They've had two truly awful days for the race the last two years so guaranteed to be a scorcher this time round too :)
