    Hi

I'm off to London for a few days next week and it would be handy to be able to use my Google Maps while I'm there. (I have a 3GS)

What is the O2 data roaming rate for the UK? Is it extortionate, as it is in most places? I'm hoping that the UK is not as bad as further afield

    thanks

I rang O2 with the very same question. The prices she quoted me were eye-watering. So I downloaded a map App of London and used that instead.

Great thanks. But in that case, I wouldn't have the GPS to tell me where I am, which may become an issue.....

It would probably be cheaper for you to buy and install the Navigon Sat Nav app, than to find the nearest tube station in Google Maps using roaming data.

Turn off Data Roaming at the airport, and either buy a Sat Nav app (or device!) or a paper map!

Yes: AFAICS, O2 charge almost 20€ for the first 4mb, the next 46 are "free". Then they start charging you again.

    Vodafone: 50mb @ 99c.
    Three: free and unlimited.
