Hi, I usually order directly from Apple but I need a new iMac in a hurry. :) What Apple Dealer would you recommend in Dublin, that would have the top spec iMac in stock?

I'd suggest you ask either the Mac Store on Merrion Square, Bondi Group or Mactivate; off the top of the head they are about the only three 100% Apple resellers who know what they need to know in the city.

You could also try one of the O2 Experience shops, Harvey Normans or PC World but you get to deal with ninkonpoopery.

PC World also stock the new iMacs, but I'd also recommend the previous mentions over PC World.

Never seen a Mac Store on Merrion square, where is that one?? wouldnt mind having a look.

There is a camera shop beside the Molly Malone statue off grafton street that has a section down the back selling Apple hardware too, including Macs.

It's one of those offices. 60 Merrion Square I believe, but that's off the top of my head. Also, that photo shop is closed down now. I bought a Macbook out of there last year, it broke and the shop had disappeared :pac:

Also, I'm pretty sure the Merrion Square shop doesn't have Macs on the premises.

Thanks Ham, I paid a visit to the Merrion sq place at lunch time, but they didn't have any in stock. I'll try some of the other options. :)

PC World in Carrickmines had the 27in C2D iMac in stock last time I was there.

I am in the US at the moment and the highest spec that Apple have in their shops is the 27in Core i5 and not the i7, so it would be highly unlikely that any shop would actually have the top-of-the-range i7 in stock

You could try Bang & Olufsen on the Quays.

    Try these guys...

    www.galmac.ie

They are in Galway but we got 2 27" IMac's from them for work and were quick with delivery.

Id drive up to Belfast for the real deal. You will save yourself a fortune in the currency conversion. You can even reserve what you want online to make sure its there for you when you get there.

actually the 27" is cheaper to buy in ROI than the UK ... going by xe.com at today's rate the Irish store is 60 quid cheaper ....

it's amazing how many people just assume that 'up north' is better value on everything !!!!!

Ok i'll admit i didn't see that it was an imac you were buying.

All i know is that when i bought my Macbook pro i bought it there and saved over €600 on it compared to its price in the Republic.

Fine its not going to work for you but your sappy responces in both cases can be kept to yourself. I'm not one of those run up the North for everything kind of people in fact the last time i went up there it was for my MBP. I was only trying to help
