So I took the plunge and through linux on my laptop.

Have to say I'm impressed, its just nice to have something different.

However I cannot get online with it.

I am able to go online perfect with an ethernet cable, and I have the drivers installed for the wireless.

But I need to set it up manually, if I do it auto it wont connect, but manually it will connect but wont load any web pages.

It asks for the following fields

Ip Address / Mask / Gateway to which i put
    192.168.1.30/255.255.0.0/ (dont know)

    DNs server

I have two DNS servers I need to reference from UPC, but can only fit in one which might be causing the problem.

    So essentially

How do I setup UPC BB on my mint setup.

    Cheers

    or
    192.168.1.30/255.255.0.0/208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220 opendns

    should do the trick

your netmask looks wrong - try 255.255.255.0 (192.168.1 normally uses this mask)

An incorrect netmask may cause routing to be wrong, and would explain your connection issues.
