Have you ever dreamt a horse would win a race?

A bit of a nothing thread and people will probably think I'm mad ;)

Saw a thread like this on the Betfair forum, don't post there as I never bothered with the KYC check but I had to share one of the strangest dreams I've ever had. This sounds unbelievably over the top and had I not dreamt it myself I probably wouldn't believe someone if they told me!

A few years back I had a dream that Richard Johnson was giving me French lessons in the middle of a field. He was teaching me to say 'On y va'. Next minute Richard Phillips appeared and took over the lesson. Woke up soon after

A few days later I was flicking through the results section of the Racingpost when I saw a horse called On Y Va had won a race in England ridden by Richard Johnson & trained by Richard Phillips

Didn't see that it was running the day before but certainly a strange dream!!!

Perhaps not consciously, but I'd say you saw/heard it somewhere.

    A: Nope.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but it's still relevant, being a bit dead around here, too.

Had two dreamed. Dreamt that Ravens Pass would win the St James, but only came second. Had a tenner on at 7/1,was a lot for me at the time :pac:

Other one I posted on here. Had a dream Long Run won the Gold Cup at 9/2. When I saw it's price was that in the morning I had to back it

About a week before the 2009 Derby I had a dream where I saw Mick Kinane winning it. At the time I fancied Fame And Glory for the race but I couldn't back him after having that dream so I lumped on Sea The Stars and the rest was history.

A fair few years ago (a couple of weeks before the meeting) I had a dream that a horse trained by Henry Cecil called Ardkinglass won a race at Royal Ascot . I kept an eye out for him and sure enough I saw that he was among the entries for the Jersey Stakes. I backed him at 15/2 on the day and he won for me.

I'm as sceptical as anyone about this but if I dream about a horse winning, I'll sure as hell back it.

A week before the race, I dreamt that Cape Blanco won the Arc.
Backed him at 11/1 I think but he never featured.
And whats wrong with him this year - he looks like a different horse? I was very impressed with how he won the Champion Stakes.

a fella in the pub i used to work in kept telling everyone he saw that mon mome would win the grand national a couple of years ago. he said he woke up that morning with the name of the horse repeating in his head. hardly anyone listened to him (including me) but when it came in at 100/1 he was laughing. he had a fiver each way on it and a fiver win.

I dreamt of a horse called Phardante and the next day he ran in a big race and he finished 2nd at 20/1 i think . Don't know if was against Oh So Sharp in the Leger or another Cecil hotpot in some other race . I must of heard his name somewhere before that , but it didn't feel like it at the time , think i had a small bet on him and being amazed he ran so well .

I have had it a few times and normally after watching a race I was impressed by a few times.

I had convinced myself Denman was going to win the the 08 Gold Cup and had plenty on him, then about 5 nights in a row I had the same dream where I visualised Denman turning the screw at the top of the hill with Neptune in his slipstream, the rest was hazy until it got to the line and I had a vivid image of the distance and Neptune getting by Kauto on the line. Did Denman to win, Denman ew, SFC: Denman, Neptune and Kauto and covered it with a SFC Denman, Kauto, Neptune, if the line was 2 yards further on I would still be counting my money!!

I watched Sea The Stars Guineas about 15 times as I could not believe how ordinary he made Delegator look, went to bed two days before the Derby and dreamt he won it well from F&G(my mate had got word from Ballydoyle that he was on fire at home and was their fancy) so I got up and backed him in everything I could ante post including 14/1 for the Arc.

Had load of dreams of Zarkava winning the Arc but again after watching her Prix de Diane loads of times I started backing her in June everytime I was in a bookie and they had odds.

What was the highest you got on Zarkava?

Poxy bookies would not give me odds until after the Prix Vermille at which point she was 7/1, I reckon I would have got 20/1 after the Diane as her Vermille performance was awesome.

I had €100 @ 7's, €100 @ 6's and €50 @ 5's, it was lovely collecting it as I had been in looking for a price about 6 times between the two races and each time i told the lads behind the counter to get on her aswell but they didn't. There was also a guy who was always in there and 3 of the times I was looking for odds he was standing at the counter and told me a filly would not win the arc so I popped over to say hello with my fan of about 30 betslips!! Incidentally this guy was telling me Denman would not beat Kauto in the Gold Cup after Denmans Hennessy win in 07. That is why I rarely go in to bookies, same guy, wearing the same clothes willing to give you a "tip".rolleyes.gif

Dunno if you saw her Vermille race but the way she picked off the field and the Da Ra Mi was spectacular.

Reason I didn't back her for the Arc is I was too afraid of her giving too much ground coming out of the stalls.
    What a filly.

Thats true, Goldi could not live with her either. Zarkava had some top gear, pity we could not see her against Sea The Stars

I know well...Zarkava could have won a July Cup if she wanted to.

In 1983, as a 12yo, with an interest in racing thanks to my dad, I had a dream that I was on a beach and some kid was throwing pebbles at me. When I woke up, I thought it weird as 'pebbles' was not a word I would ever use.

A few weeks later, Pebbles won the 1000 Guineas...and then realisation hit me. Only time it's ever happened.

A few years ago, I dreamt of Crystal D'Ainay, but he didn't win anything after :o
