    Hi!
We're hopefully going to build onto my partners mothers house and basically making a detatched house into a semi-detached. We've gotten as far as getting out plans done but I'm wondering about the legalities that'll be involved in this. I don't think it'll be that simple for some reason!
    Any advise will be apreciated!

You need to appoint a solicitor to formalise the agreement . Beyond that this forum can offer no further legal advice . I will leave the thread open for a while - posters are asked to refrain from straying into legal matters

I would draw your attention to a similar thread - but asking a different question

where i think ull have problems is not on the legal side, ye can all agree and sign something, its the bank that will have a problem. . .

    if a repossesion occurs. . what happens. . .

its been done, so there must be a way. .

    Sorry! Will try to rephrase!
How do we get it recognized as a seperate residence?
    Or can we?
Naturally will be getting a solicitor but does anyone know the councils view point on these kind of builds?

Each site will be assessed on a case by case basis . Many are granted permission .
