i have had my xbox set up with a PPPoE so i could get a nat 1

recently i hadn't been able to log into Xbox live so then i just reset to factory defaults (auto IP address) and no PPPoE

but then i had trouble joining my friends in games on
    MW2
IT still says my NAT is ''open'' but i cannot join certain games
before this happened i could join any game without complaint

any ideas on how to revert to NAT 1?

Every time i put in a PPPoE Username and password it disconnects from XBL

i have tried all the username and password combinations found in another post ie. broadband1 eircom ....etc.

Hey you set up your eircom modem for pppoe passthrough? Look for a setting about bridge mode in the router config, should work then. Additionally have you tried using upnp, it wont give you nat1 but tbh it should be good enough.

I don't know jack **** about PPPoE method, but when I set mine up I just gave my xbox a different I.P and then I manually entered the sunbet etc etc on the xbox, I enabled the nat on custom service on the netopia router and just selected the I.P for my xbox I then lowered the firewall to low. It works like a dream ever since.
