Hey, I looked through the other big thread briefly but couldn't find what I was looking for so:

1: using the badger brush, should I by rubbing it hard into the skin, I've tried literally "grinding" it into the skin, and figure while this may soften the stubble it'll also soften the skin and lead to more nicks or cuts?

2: Also how many shaves should I get before changing blades, I figure I've used the current blade at least ten times, so it should be due for a change soon, but it's still working great.

    Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't say hard and if you look at the youtube videos you'll see its not really hard,

The brush doesn't soften the skin etc so much as its the hot water and lather then does alot of the work, you simply use the brush to make sure its worked in

As many as you find comfortable,
The whole how many shaves per blade thing depends on many things, the make of blade, the way you shave and what your whiskers are like (how thick etc).

There is no hard and fast rule as such, some people might get 4 others might get 6

A light touch is all that's required with the brush - the best quality brushes have very soft long bristles BTW. What you want to do when applying the lather is also very genbtly exfoliate your skin and also lift up the bristles from the skin. So you really only need to use the tip of the brush to do this. Remeber you're not scrubbing a doorstep, it's your face.
